The Albion Rooms
Ottawa, ON

Old World Hospitality

This 200m2 addition is in the existing courtyard of the Novotel Hotel at 33 Nicholas St. The hotel’s goal was to create a destination restaurant and bar that had its own distinct identity. A glass façade that glows at night entices people to enter the courtyard from Nicholas St. During the day, the view from the inside is directed towards the heritage façade of the Albion Hotel, a red brick structure built in 1871. Working with Christophe Daudre, Interior Designer from Paris and Robbie Bargh, Restaurant Consultant from London, DLA selected materials and finishes that complimented the menu – “rustic yet contemporary”. Signature cocktails are mixed behind the long wood bar that is highlighted by a series of black and gold Tom Dixon light fixtures. Visit The Albion Rooms at thealbionrooms.com.
