Transformation

This existing one-storey building on Chamberlain Avenue was transformed into a three-storey landmark in Ottawa’s historic Glebe neighbourhood. Serving as the new headquarters for Your Credit Union, housing a bank branch and its operational offices, the design creates a strong connection with the community both inside and out. The large expanses of glass not only allow natural light to flood the interior of the building but it also serves to create a feeling of openness for both the tenants and neighbours alike. This relationship is further reinforced through the use of locally sourced brick and natural wood, which are materials that are firmly rooted in the surrounding environment.
