Hospital Redevelopment

The Hôpital Général de Hawkesbury & District General Hospital has just completed its first major redevelopment since it opened in 1984. DLA is the Prime Consultant for this $117M project which includes 3 major additions – a 72,400 SF West Addition for Ambulatory Care (Dialysis, Rehab, Clinics, MDCU, Cardiology), an 8,800 SF infill of an existing courtyard for a new Surgical Services Suite and a 36,700 SF East Addition for expanded Emergency, ICU and Family Birthing. The project goals are to consolidate Ambulatory Care services, create a main lobby and registration “focal point” for the hospital, provide distinct ambulance and “walk-in” entrances to emergency and create space for future program growth. Built in 4 phases, the construction was completed in early 2021.
